PSPad text editor

Officially, this is the text editor I personally use to write down all scripts you can find at Davao Directory. It’s lightweight, easy to use, comes up with a portable version, fully packed with tons of features, and most importantly, it’s free!
PSPad – Free Editor is a freeware especially designed for Dynamic HTML web development and what made me decide to use it are the features included in its package:
- It has a built-in FTP client. Unlike the traditional way of editing those pages of your website, you would no longer need to use a separate FTP client software just to download your files and upload everything after saving. Typically, this allows you to save lots and lots of time.
- Minimal requirements for installation and it can even run under *MS Windows 95! It only consumes an average dynamic memory of about 20K, unlike most heavy editors which can cost up to more than 150K.
- Supports HTML, PHP, JavaScript, VBScript, Perl, C++, and more PLs. Of course, it includes code hinting, highlighting, auto correction, syntax checking, and even compression.
- Setup file is only 3.26MB in size and it has a portable version. You just have to install it on a single folder, then you may be able to use it even by storing it in your flash drive.
You may think it lacks the features, but the essence of it is: these are just what I need for me to be able to develop a full working website even where I will be for as long as I have my flash drive with me and I’m using a personal computer connected to the internet.
If you’re still hungry for more features, just visit their website at http://www.pspad.com/en/. You may also download the setup file on their download page.
